2001 Chiarello Vineyards Roux Old Vine Petite Sirah

This 2001 Roux Old Vine Petite Sirah comes from vines now marking their 93nd birthday. It is a wine I'm especially proud of, as it comes into its own glory after my 10-year project to coax these vines back into production, culminating in the first vintage in 1998.
It is marked by a glowing, glass-staining saturated opaque purple, a nose of blackberry and wet stones. It will render a thick-on-the-palate sensation, with sweet tannins and blueberry notes, and finishes long without the expected tannic grip.
